STRAP TENSION METER - Model STM-Series
For Metal & Plastic Strapping - Direct Reading Dials in lb or kg

The mechanical Strap Tension Meters have direct reading dials and are available in pound or kilogram values. Each instrument’s model number denotes its maximum tension limit, for example a model STM-200 measures tension up to a maximum of 200 lb, and a model STM-150kg measures as high as 150 kg. The meters work best when indicating mid-range values, not the extreme high or low values, therefore we suggest you select the model where your expected tension readings are one-half the instrument’s maximum range.

Typical strapping material requires a measuring tension well below 200 lb. The most commonly used instrument model, the STM-200, measures tension up to 200 lb and is calibrated to 3/8" x .020" (approx. 9 mm x .5 mm) plastic strapping. Other strapping materials may require tension readings up to l,000 lb (or 500 kg) with specific calibrations to the materials used.

Ranges are available up to 1000 lbs, and we offer metric models in ranges up to 500 kg.
